Effective date: October 4, 2026 Last updated: October 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Reform LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“Reform,” “we,” “us”), covering your Pact account, hosted accountability features, subscriptions, and interactions with other users (the “Service”). The software license for the Pact iOS application is governed separately by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), with Reform LLC as the application provider. The software license for the Pact Android application is governed by the terms Google Play applies to app downloads. These service Terms do not grant a separate software license or replace the Standard EULA or those Google Play terms.
You accept these Terms by tapping the acceptance control shown during account creation. If you do not accept them, do not create an account or use the Service.
We keep a record of the version of these Terms you accepted and the date and time you accepted it.
Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy describe how we handle information. Acknowledging a privacy notice is not consent to optional health-data collection or sharing. Those choices are requested separately.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pact. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 13 to create an account or use the Service. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will promptly restrict it and delete the associated data, subject to applicable legal-preservation requirements.
If you are between 13 and 17, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf, and permits you to use the Service, including connecting with a partner and sharing photos and comments with that partner.
During sign-up we ask for your date of birth, or in some regions obtain an age-range signal from the App Store, in order to apply the age limit and the protections state law requires for users under 18. We do not retain the exact date of birth of anyone we turn away.
Parents and guardians may contact support@reformapp.org about a teen’s account. Before providing information or acting on a request, we verify identity and authority and consider the teen’s privacy rights and applicable law. A request does not automatically entitle a person to another user’s private content.
The Service is offered only in the United States.
support@reformapp.org if you believe your account has been compromised.Pact is an accountability tool for two people. Each week you and one partner set a personal goal for how many days you will work out. You log a workout by taking or choosing a photo. Your partner can see what you logged, react, and comment. The app keeps streaks and sends reminders, including reminders that become more insistent when you are behind on the goal you set.
If you turn it on, Pact can read your daily step count from Apple Health (available only on iOS) and show it to you, and — only if you turn on a second, separate setting — show it to your partner.
Pact is a motivation and tracking tool. It is not a coach, a trainer, or a medical service. See Section 12.
Pairing. Pact has no search, browsing, matching, or discovery. The only way to connect is for one person to share an invite code with someone they already know and choose to share it with. Share your invite code only with a person you know and trust. Once paired, your partner can see the workouts you log and their photos, your weekly goals, streaks and achievements, your name and profile photo, and your step count if you have turned on step sharing.
One partner at a time. A subscription supports one active pairing at a time.
Ending a pairing. Either person can end the pairing at any time in the app. When a pairing ends, you and your former partner can no longer see each other’s profile, workouts, photos, comments, reactions, streaks, or steps, the shared streak stops counting, and reactions on workouts from that pairing are deleted. Each person keeps their own workouts and photos in their own account, and a comment your former partner left on one of your workouts stays with that workout in your account. Limited backup copies and records required for legal preservation are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We cannot erase screenshots or other copies a partner has already made outside Pact.
Removing and blocking. A person you remove can also be blocked, which prevents that account from being invited again until you unblock them from the Blocked Users screen in Settings. A person you have blocked cannot reverse the block.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, remove and block them, and report the content to us — in the app, or at support@reformapp.org. See Section 10.
Plans and prices. Pact is sold as an auto-renewing subscription:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | $7.99 | $49.99 |
| Duo | $12.99 | $79.99 |
Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes.
Free trial. A 7-day free trial is offered to eligible customers on each plan. Apple (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android) determines introductory-offer eligibility, generally allowing one introductory offer per subscription group or equivalent. The purchase screen shows whether you qualify, the trial length, and the price charged afterward. If you are not eligible, the disclosed price is charged at purchase. Cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends to avoid the first charge. The store may end trial access when a trial is canceled; follow the information shown in your subscription settings.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. If you subscribed through Apple, Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before each renewal. If you subscribed through Google Play, Google charges your Google Play payment method at each renewal under Google Play’s billing terms.
How to cancel. Cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device) if you subscribed through Apple, or in the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions if you subscribed through Google Play, or through the link in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access through the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app, or deleting your Pact account, does not cancel your subscription — you must cancel through Apple or Google Play, whichever you used.
Duo and the invited partner. A Duo subscription covers two seats. The subscriber pays; the partner they invite gets full access without buying a subscription and without paying anything. That access depends on an active Duo entitlement and the pairing continuing. Turning off automatic renewal does not end either person’s access before the already-paid period expires. The invited partner’s access ends when the Duo entitlement expires or is revoked, or immediately when the pairing ends through removal or blocking. An invited partner is not charged for that seat; this does not waive any statutory rights or remedies. When a Duo seat is freed, the subscriber can generate a new invite code.
Billing and refunds. All purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android). We never receive or store your payment card details. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies; we cannot issue refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases. To request one, use Apple’s “Report a Problem” process or Google Play’s refund request process. This does not limit rights under your state’s law that cannot be waived.
Price changes. For a change to the fee charged under an existing subscription, we will email the address on your account at least 7 and no more than 30 days before the change takes effect, explaining the new price, effective date, and cancellation method. We will also give advance notice of other material subscription changes and any additional notices required by applicable law. Where Apple or Google requires your affirmative consent to a price increase, your subscription will not renew at the new price unless you give it.
Renewal reminders. We send an annual reminder identifying the subscription, charge amount and frequency, and cancellation method. For annual plans, we email a renewal notice 35 days before the scheduled renewal date, identifying the renewal date, amount, and cancellation method. We provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
You keep ownership. Photos, comments, and other material you put into Pact (“your content”) remain yours.
License to us. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate the Service — to store it, show it to you, and show it to the partner you chose. The license ends when the content is deleted, except to maintain restricted backup copies until they expire and preserve or process specific records where law requires or permits it, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content for advertising, marketing, or promotion, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Your responsibility. By uploading content you represent that you created it or have the right to share it, that it infringes no one’s rights, that any other identifiable person in a photo has agreed to appear in it, and that it complies with Section 9.
You agree not to:
Content involving the sexual exploitation of children is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by law, and the account is terminated.
You can report a photo or comment directly from the item in the app, or email support@reformapp.org. You can also remove and block a partner at any time (Section 6).
We review reports and aim to respond within 3 business days. Reports of apparent child sexual exploitation, imminent danger, or serious security incidents receive priority; the ordinary response target is not a waiting period for legally required action. We may remove content, warn a user, suspend an account, or terminate an account.
We may preserve specific records to meet legal obligations or investigate safety and security incidents. We disclose communications content only where authorized by applicable law, including valid legal process, legally sufficient consent, required NCMEC reports, or an applicable emergency exception. A suspected Terms violation alone does not authorize disclosure otherwise prohibited by the Stored Communications Act.
Photo moderation relies on user reports and our review of those reports; Pact does not filter photos for objectionable content before they are posted. We do not continuously monitor every exchange, and reports are not an emergency service. We remain responsible for applicable moderation and reporting obligations.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Deletion removes your profile, workouts, photos, comments, goals, streaks, and step data as described in the Privacy Policy, and removes your content from your partner’s view. If you signed in with Apple, deletion also revokes Pact’s Apple sign-in authorization. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone through the app. Restricted backups and legally retained records are subject to the Privacy Policy. It does not cancel your subscription; cancel that separately through Apple or Google Play (Section 7).
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if the law requires it, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would create a safety or legal risk. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including 8 (as to backups), 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 — survive.
Pact does not provide medical advice. The Service does not provide professional medical care, personal training, or nutrition treatment, and using Pact creates no provider-patient relationship. Pact does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and it does not monitor your health.
Talk to a qualified professional before starting or changing an exercise program, particularly if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, an injury, a chronic illness, or any other condition that exercise could affect, or if you are under 18.
Exercise carries risk, including the risk of serious injury. You choose what workouts you do. Pact never tells you what exercise to perform, how hard to train, or when to train through pain. Stop exercising and seek appropriate medical advice for pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms.
Reminders are not instructions. Pact sends reminders, including ones that become more insistent when you are behind on your own goal. They are motivational messages, not guidance about what is safe for you. Ignore them whenever they conflict with your judgment, your health, or professional advice. You can change your goal or turn off notifications at any time. Teens can also change their choice about optional streaks and escalating reminders in Settings.
Pact is not for emergencies. In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Step counts and other numbers in Pact come from Apple Health (iOS only) and your own entries. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, and they are not medical measurements.
You assume the risks of physical activity you undertake, to the extent the law allows.
Step features are available only on iOS. Reading your step count from Apple Health is optional. You control it through iOS permissions and through Pact’s settings, and can turn it off at any time. Sharing your step count and step-goal activity with your partner is a separate setting that is off unless you turn it on. This choice resets to off for each new pairing. When sharing is off, Pact does not send your partner notifications about your step-goal activity. We do not use data obtained from Apple Health for advertising, marketing, or data mining. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
Reform LLC or its licensors own the Pact name, branding, software, design, and other proprietary materials. Your own uploaded content remains yours as described in Section 8.
Your rights to install and use the Pact iOS software come from the Standard EULA and applicable App Store Usage Rules, and your rights to install and use the Pact Android software come from the terms Google Play applies to app downloads. These Terms govern the account and hosted-service relationship and do not change that software license. Duo describes the hosted subscription entitlement; it does not alter Apple’s software-license usage rules.
This section concerns the hosted Service under these Terms. Software-license warranties and remedies are governed by the Standard EULA and applicable law.
Except where the law does not allow it, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that data will always be available or accurate, or that defects will be corrected.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
This section addresses claims under these Terms concerning the hosted Service; it does not rewrite the Standard EULA’s treatment of software-license claims or restrict nonwaivable legal rights.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law; to liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct; or to any claim for death or bodily injury. This section imposes no limit on physical-injury claims concerning the hosted Service.
Some states do not allow limits on certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
If you are 18 or older, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Reform LLC from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service. This does not apply to claims arising from our own conduct, and nothing in it limits any right you have under consumer protection law. We will notify you promptly of any claim and will not settle it in a way that imposes obligations on you without your consent.
This section governs disputes under these service Terms. It does not amend any governing-law or forum provision applicable under the Standard EULA to a dispute governed by that agreement.
Let’s try to sort it out first. Before filing anything, email support@reformapp.org describing the problem and what you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. This step applies to both of us, except for small claims actions, requests for urgent relief, government complaints, or a filing needed to preserve a legal deadline. It does not delay or limit a nonwaivable right.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Consumer protection laws of your home state that cannot be overridden by contract still apply to you.
Venue. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to proceed elsewhere. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court in a court with jurisdiction.
These Terms contain no arbitration clause, no class-action waiver, no jury-trial waiver, and no shortened deadline for bringing a claim. You keep the full limitations period your state’s law gives you.
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and will update the date at the top. Where permitted by law and after appropriate notice, continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Where affirmative acceptance or parental consent is required, we will obtain it before applying the change. If a change affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will obtain your consent where the law requires it, rather than relying on continued use.
By creating an account you agree to receive communications from us electronically — in the app, by push notification, and by email to the address on your account. Service messages such as receipts, security alerts, legal notices, and required subscription reminders are part of the Service and cannot be turned off while you have an account, though you can turn off push notifications in your device settings. You may request first-class mail for breach notices as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not send marketing email.
Pact relies on services provided by Apple, Google, and our infrastructure vendors. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Their availability can affect the Service. This does not exclude our responsibility for selecting and overseeing our processors or any other obligation that cannot legally be disclaimed.
Advertising measurement (Meta). If you are 18 or older, Pact uses Meta’s software development kit, in Meta’s Limited Data Use mode, to measure whether our advertisements on Meta’s platforms led to an installation. We do not send Meta your workouts, photos, comments, step counts, partner information, or other activity inside Pact. Pact works the same whether or not this measurement runs, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. If Apple’s tracking prompt appears, your answer controls whether Meta may receive your device advertising identifier. We do not enable it for users under 18 or whose age is unknown. Meta’s own terms and privacy policy govern its handling of information it receives. See the Privacy Policy for details.
If you believe content on Pact infringes your copyright or trademark, email support@reformapp.org with: identification of the work; identification of the material and where it appears; your contact information; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is unauthorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act; and your signature. We will investigate, may remove the material, and may terminate repeat infringers.
Pact is distributed through Apple’s App Store. The Standard EULA governs the iOS software license and the matters addressed by that agreement. Apple’s platform and purchase terms also apply to your dealings with Apple. On Android, Pact is distributed through Google Play, and Google Play’s terms govern the software license and your purchases through Google Play; these Terms do not replace them.
These Terms are a separate agreement with Reform LLC for Pact’s account, hosted accountability, subscription, and user-interaction services. They are not a custom EULA. Where the agreements overlap, these Terms supplement the Standard EULA without replacing it; the Standard EULA controls any conflict concerning a matter it governs. Applicable nonwaivable consumer rights remain in force.
Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy describe Pact’s actual processing practices. The Standard EULA does not substitute for a separate consent that applicable privacy law requires. For Pact support, contact support@reformapp.org.
Notices to us, including legal notice, must be sent to support@reformapp.org. Notices to you may be sent to the email on your account or shown in the app.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.
Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Agreement scope. These Terms set out our account and hosted-service agreement. The Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain our processing commitments and your privacy choices. The Standard EULA remains a separate applicable agreement, as explained in Sections 1, 14, and 23; this clause does not supersede it.
